We have been working with clients affected by paralysing conditions since 1998. Our backgrounds are based in sports and exercise science, remedial therapies and complementary therapies.

David Akroyd-Jones , Sport and Exercise scientist (BSc hons) founded Physability with Nicky Baldwin in 2003. He is also qualified as a phase IV cardiac rehabilitation instructor and sport and remedial massage. His journey began with Therapists from the Dikul institute at the NRCP in minchinhahpton in1998 and accredited through BASES in 2003.

His fascination for human movement and function is complemented by his knowledge and practice in Chinese martial arts providing client centred exercise programs at Physability

Nicky Baldwin has worked for 15years in a rehabilitation environment, her last post was at the National rehabilitation centre for the paralysed in Minchinhampton, Stroud before setting up Physability with David Akroyd-Jones in 2003. Nicky also qualified in sports massage, remedial massage and reflexology.

We also offer Acupuncture and Cold laser therapy from qualified acupuncturist Jan Lloyd-Jones. Jan has been working with individuals affected by paralysis for over 15 years. She has acquired some unique methods during her years of practise. The use of cold laser therapy on pressure sores is one example of the benefits of its healing benefits. Osteopathy is provided by two llocally based qualified osteopaths Tony Nevin D.O and Jonathan Nunn D.O. Both very experienced Osteopathic practitioners with a wealth of experience working with individuals affected by paralysis.

Jonathan graduated from the British School of Osteopathy where he taught for twenty years as a clinical tutor; also while in London he ran a busy Harley Street practice. He is based in stroud and available to provide treatment at Physability
